Job summary

The Cumberland County DA's Office Forensic Laboratory seeks a detail-oriented Friction Ridge Examiner to analyze, compare, and verify latent and known fingerprints. Certification pursuit (CLPE via IAI) is encouraged as part of professional growth within the laboratory.

Responsibilities include ACE-V analysis, database searches, documentation, and preparing reports. The role may involve courtroom testimony and collaboration with the District Attorney's Office for trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of latent fingerprint examination experience.
• Degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• Active willingness to pursue CLPE/IAI certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• ACE-V analysis to latent fingerprints from crime scenes and items.
• Search unknown friction ridge impressions against databases.
• Document results of examination activities.
• Prepare oral and written reports on opinions and findings.
• Testify in court regarding lab findings and procedures.
