Bowdoin College is seeking a part-time, late-night Cook to support our SuperSnack operation at Thorne Dining Hall in Brunswick, Maine. You will assemble and cook recipes for daily menus, assist with catering setups, and work under the Head Chef and assistants to maintain quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree is preferred. Candidates with kitchen production experience, basic cooking techniques, and a teamwork mindset are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or vocational degree in culinary or related field preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic cooking techniques and their application in catering and/or institutional settings.
• Ability to efficiently work independently and within a team atmosphere.
• Self-motivated with strong decision-making and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and follow both written and oral directions.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Strong commitment to customer service.

Responsabilités

• Assembling and cooking recipes for daily menus.
• Preparation of ingredients in recipes for both hot and cold food production.
• Assisting with catering function set-ups and preparation.
• Assisting with position coverage in production and service areas as required.
• Operating cold food prep and short-order cooking equipment.
• Maintaining workspace in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Reading recipes and preparing to specifications.
