The Hartford seeks a LatAm Surety underwriter to join its team in Miami on a hybrid schedule, reporting to the Global Head of Credit & Political Risk Insurance. You will support cedants and brokers, underwrite special acceptances, and collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and operations teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in P&C underwriting, strong analytical skills, and bilingual English/Spanish. Travel across Latin America and the Caribbean is required; familiarity with Excel, SQL,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in P&C underwriting, insurance operations, brokerage, claims, risk management, or related insurance disciplines preferred.
• Surety and/or Latin America and Caribbean experience is a plus.
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship; relocation may be provided.

Responsabilités

• Perform financial analysis on principals and recommend approval or otherwise for special acceptances.
• Monitor downgrades in credit ratings and coordinate with brokers and clients to manage exposures.
• Review contract wording vs renewal wording and provide feedback to LatAm Surety leadership.
• Analyze accounts for renewal actions and provide renewal recommendations.
• Develop and maintain broker and cedant relationships and deliver timely proposals and authorizations.
