Job summary

Banco Santander SA in the United States is seeking a Latam Rates/FX Structured Products Analyst to provide desk support, build pricing and risk models, and deliver analytics for internal clients across Trading, Sales, Risk, and Finance. The role demands strong quantitative skills, programming capability, and a proactive control mindset.

The ideal candidate will have a quantitative degree, LATAM FX experience, Spanish language ability, and proficiency in VBA, Python, RStudio, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, Finance).
• Strong quantitative foundation and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical skills, with demonstrated ability to work with data and build tools.
• Experience with Latam rates and fx products will be a plus.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced markets environment with strong attention to detail and control mindset.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, including the ability to partner with trading and sales.
• Spanish speaker requirement.
• Strong programing skills ( VBA, Python, RStudio, SQL).
• Certifications SIE, S63 and S7 will be a requirement if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide desk support across Latam IR and FX products, including daily P&L reconciliation, explaining drivers, and investigating breaks.
• Build, enhance, and maintain pricing, risk, and performance models.
• Perform statistical analysis on market and trading data.
• Develop and automate tools and workflows to improve efficiency, controls, and data quality (data pipelines, dashboards, reporting).
• Produce recurring and ad hoc analytics for internal clients (Trading, Sales, Risk, Finance, Control).
• Communicate clearly with desk stakeholders, translating quantitative outputs into actionable insights.
• Support process improvement initiatives, including controls, governance, and best practices around data and models.
