Job summary

Maersk is hiring an Operations Support Associate in Union City, CA to support day-to-day dispatch operations for Last Mile delivery. You will work with delivery teams, Macy's customers, transportation providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely communication and compliant operations.

The role requires strong communication, detail orientation, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in customer service, operations support, administrative support, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional demeanor.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience performing data entry, maintaining records, and compiling operational information.
• Ability to solve problems, exercise sound judgment, and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented when managing customer concerns and time-sensitive situations.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound phone calls, emails, and messages while providing a high level of customer service.
• Monitor daily delivery operations and track the progress of delivery teams to ensure on-time service execution.
• Manage customer, driver, and partner escalations with professionalism and urgency.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding delivery updates, delays, service exceptions, and operational issues.
• Perform real-time audits of delivery activity and operational data, identifying exceptions and escalating concerns as needed.
• Assist with administrative functions, including email correspondence, report generation, scheduling support, filing, and record maintenance.
• Monitor compliance with established operational procedures and report exceptions to management.
• Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making when addressing operational issues during periods of limited supervision.
• Utilize transportation management systems, routing software, Microsoft Office applications, and other platforms to support daily activities.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support effective communication between delivery teams, transportation partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met.
• Maintain professionalism and composure while responding to time-sensitive situations and operational challenges.
