Job summary

Worthington Industries is seeking a manufacturing associate for the 1st shift to process customer orders and maintain a smooth material flow to production and packaging lines. You’ll move materials using forklift or crane, load coils onto reels, and oversee machine changeovers to support efficiency and quality.

The role requires basic math and writing skills, OSHA training is provided, and prior material handling experience is preferred for safe, reliable operation and growth potential within

Qualifications

• Complete knowledge of machine operation functions.
• Basic writing and math skills.
• Ability to read all measuring devices.
• Knowledge of hazard communication and hazard energy procedures.
• Ability to lead by example, coach, and train in basic machine setup and operation.
• Ability to make quality decisions for minor defects and select proper tooling for setups.
• Understanding of safety training and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform required quality checks and surface inspection of material.
• Six months of previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge.
• Forklift and/or crane license.
• OSHA safety training provided.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders in a timely manner.
• Ensure the timely flow of material, contributing to process efficiency.
• Move material to/from a machine using a forklift and/or crane safely and efficiently.
• Load coils onto payoff reels and transport processed material to the packaging line.
• Oversee order changeovers on regular orders and set up machines offline.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
