Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Laser Tracker Toolmaker (Starship) to join the Starship manufacturing and launch facilities. You will interpret blueprints using GD&T, collect data with laser trackers in Verisurf, and establish reference systems for precise tooling across large structures.

You’ll analyze collected data, guide remaining tooling operations, and ensure safety and SpaceX quality while collaborating with fabricators, machinists, and engineers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certification.
• 2+ years of millwright, machining orindustrial mechanic experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience working with laser trackers or other 3D measurement equipment.
• Associate degree in applied science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints using GD&T to support assembly levels.
• Collect geometric data with laser tracker via Verisurf.
• Establish and apply reference systems on and off parts.
• Analyze data and provide direction for tooling operations.
• Integrate process monitoring with fabrication for welding/machining details.
• Communicate findings to fabricators, machinists, and engineers to ensure safety and SpaceX quality.
