Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Laser Tracker Toolmaker for Starship Launch Hardware. You will work on building and improving mechanical systems at rocket launch facilities, interpreting GD&T from blueprints, collecting data with laser trackers, and integrating process monitoring into fabrication to optimize welding and machining on large structures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/production or tooling environment.
• Two-year degree (associate or technical) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use GD&T to interpret blueprints at all assembly levels.
• Collect geometric data via laser tracker through model-based software such as Verisurf.
• Establish and apply a reference system on and off the part.
• Provide analysis of data to guide remaining operations.
• Integrate process monitoring with fabrication to locate welding and machining details.
• Understand effects of fabrication on large structures and environmental factors.
• Communicate effectively with fabricators, machinists, engineers and others.
