Job summary

IPG Photonics in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to test, install and run laser-based systems per engineering instructions and manuals.

You will troubleshoot sub-systems, set up experiments, and document results while collaborating with Production, Applications and Engineering teams.

A degree in engineering is preferred, with experience in laser systems and CAD/CAM/CNC beneficial; competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• AS or BS Engineering degree preferred.
• Experience with laser systems and industrial laser applications preferred.
• Strong software background preferred.
• Ability to read and follow schematics.
• Data entry skills needed.
• Strong communication skills within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot full range of machine subsystems including electrical, mechanical, motion, optical, software and laser systems.
• Identify and solve hardware and software issues; collaborate on continuous improvements of laser workstations.
