Job summary

IPG Photonics is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to test, install and run laser-based systems per engineering instructions and manuals. The role involves troubleshooting laser workstations across electrical, mechanical, motion, optical, software and laser subsystems, and setting up units to meet specs.

Collaborate with Production, Applications, Engineering, Sales and customers through acceptance and training, while documenting data and maintaining precise test records.

Qualifications

• AS or BS Engineering degree preferred.
• Laser systems and industrial laser applications experience preferred.
• Strong software background preferred.
• CAD/CAM, CNC or robotic systems experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics.
• Data entry skills needed.
• Strong communication skills required for interaction within various groups.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot full range of machine sub systems including electrical, mechanical, motion, optical, software and laser systems.
• Identify and solve machine hardware and software issues and work with Production, Applications and Engineering on continuous improvement of laser workstations.
• Set up experiments and record data or measurements and ensure documentation of all work with care and precision.
