Job summary

Thorlabs in Jessup, MD seeks an Engineering Technician to join a team developing, manufacturing, and testing lasers and laser systems for customers. You will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and document production processes, using die-attach equipment, laser welders, and optical test instruments, with periodic duties at other Thorlabs locations.

Minimum 2 years in semiconductor, laser, or optical system production or R&D; a High School Diploma required; willingness to work across production

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in semiconductor, laser, or optical system production or R&D.
• Bachelor’s degree may waive the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test lasers and laser systems per production and engineering instructions.
• Operates production equipment such as die-attach and laser welders.
• Collaborate with engineers to build prototypes for new product releases.
• Deliver defect-free products on schedule.
• Document failures, returns, and limitations for quality tracking.
