Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense seeks a Laser Optical Electrical Technician to assemble and test laser modules and complete systems in a precision optics lab. You will use microscopes, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and beam imaging systems to verify performance and reliability.

You will follow detailed work instructions, maintain cleanroom protocols, and document test data while supporting experiments and troubleshooting in a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with optical beamlines, laser optics cleaning, and bonding techniques.
• BS or AS in a science, engineering, or laser electro‑optical technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate laser into complete systems
• Align and test laser modules following detailed work instructions
• Inspect optical components under a microscope before and after assembly
• Operate lab equipment including oscilloscopes, energy meters, and beam imaging systems
• Record test data and maintain accurate documentation
• Support engineering with experiments and troubleshooting
• Follow cleanroom protocols and maintain a safe work environment
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production goals
• Assist with tasks across laser manufacturing and quality control
