Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA is seeking a laser system integration engineer to support subsystems across welding, marking, and cutting applications. You will test and integrate IPG subsystems, work as a technical liaison between factory teams and system integrators, and help ensure successful integration on customer manufacturing lines.

The role requires a BS in engineering (MS a plus), 3+ years in a similar role, and hands-on experience with laser processing, robotics, PLCs, TCP/IP

Qualifications

BS in Engineering required; MS preferred.
3+ years experience in laser system integration.
Background in mechanical, electrical, optical engineering.
Experience with laser processing: welding, marking, cutting.
Ability to travel on-site for customer support.

Responsibilities

Be the integration expert for IPG lasers, beam delivery, and process monitoring products.
Design and execute system integration tests for customer requirements.
Provide consultation on integrating IPG products with robots and controllers.
Internal testing of new products and features for NPI.
Remotely support and frequent on-site travel for system integration and training.
Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.
Understand customer expectations and align with goals.
Provide feedback to product management for improvements.
