Job summary

Dalsin Industries Inc. in Bloomington, MN seeks a Laser Set Up Operator for 1st shift to setup, load, and tune fiber optic and CO2 lasers for production.

You will program and edit nests, interact with engineering, inspect parts, and record production in the ERP system while maintaining safety and quality standards. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, operate a forklift, and follow daily shop loads and priorities as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and ability to efficiently use ERP system.
• Ability to use automation within the department, material towers, shuttles, over under carts.
• Frequent and sustained walking; bending; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• High school diploma or GED; 1 year laser experience; forklift eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fiber optic and CO2 lasers with material towers.
• Load required material into material towers and manage stock.
• Upload/download CNC programs to the machine and create nests in Pep software.
• Interact with engineering to resolve programming issues and adjust parts.
• Perform program edits and follow daily shop loads and priorities.
• Make adjustments to beam delivery system and inspect parts for proper cutting.
• Record production in ERP and track WIP; perform cycle counts after jobs.
• Follow safety requirements, maintain quality, and unload/sort inspected parts.
• Maintain stock levels in racks; perform PMs weekly; prepare equipment for shifts.
• Occasionally load/unload trucks with raw material and update GEMBA boards.

Salary Range: $24.00 To $29.00 Hourly

• Set up & operateFiber optic & CO2 lasers with material towers.
• Load required material into material towers.
• Upload/Download CNC programs to themachine.
• Creat e single & multi part nests in PEP software for production.
• Interact with engineering team to resolve any programming issues or drop part profiles into Pep.
• Perform program edits as needed.
• Follow dai ly shop load & priorities g iven bymanager.
• Make necessary adjustments to the external beam delivery system. (Beam/Tip Alignment, Focal Point Adjustment, Optics Handling and Cleaning.)
• Inspect first part & at required intervals to insure proper cutting condition .
• Properly record production into ERP system. Ensure material is backflushing properly & move & record final WIP locations.
• Perf orm cycle counts after jobs have been completed.
• Follow safety requirements & understand the danger zones within the environment.
• Unload,sort,and inspect cut parts as they are removed fromlaser.
• Clean & replace grates, along with emptyslug drawers.
• Empty & change Donaldson air filter system as needed.
• Maintain proper stock levels in storageracks.
• Perform PMson a weekly basis, or sooner if needed.
• Periodically loads & unloads trucks with raw material.
• Keep GEMBA boards updated and present during daily GEMBA walk.
