Spectraforce Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Laser Safety Specialist to support the laser and radiation safety team in Redmond, WA.

The role involves lab inspections, evaluating equipment needs, and reviewing R&D experiments, with emphasis on laser exposure calculations and measurements. The candidate will help establish area controls, support radiation safety, and perform X-ray leakage surveys while coordinating with cross-functional teams in research and product environments.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in physics, optical sciences, engineering, health physics or nuclear engineering.
• Direct experience as Laser Safety Officer (LSO) or Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is preferred.
• Experience in safety investigations or failure analysis.
• Familiarity with lasers, X-ray sources, LEDs and related safety standards.

Responsabilidades

• Audit labs for laser and radiation safety compliance.
• Analyze hazards and write hardware safety requirements for laser/Radiation equipment.
• Implement ANSI Z136.1 and IEC 60825-1 safety standards.
• Create and approve SOPs related to laser and optical hazards.
• Review work by external laser service technicians and communicate mitigation actions.
• Perform power, spectral and temporal measurements for laser and LED sources.
• Travel to Sunnytvale/San Jose area as needed.
