Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Laser Cutting Operator to set up and run AMADA FO fiber laser systems in our Texas facility. You will align materials, verify cuts, and ensure edge quality while maintaining safe operation and following workflow instructions.

Qualified applicants typically have 1+ year experience in manufacturing, can read blueprints, and use precision measuring tools. High school diploma or GED required; on-site role with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the AMADA FO fiber laser cutting equipment.
• Ensure correct laser settings and material placement; remove and segregate finished parts.
• Evaluate laser cut edge quality and adjust machine parameters for optimal edge quality.
• Maintain safe operation and follow supervisor instructions.
• Assist with minor CNC adjustments and preventive maintenance as needed.

Position Description

Responsible for setting up and operating AMADA FO fiber laser cutting equipment to produce precision sheetmetal parts safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs all set up and operation of equipment in the laser cell.
• Set up to include, but not limited to: ensuring the proper settings for the laser machine, proper placement of raw material into the tower system and removal and segregation of finished parts from the tower system.
• Must evaluate laser cut edge of part and make decisions concerning various machine adjustments to assure the optimum edge quality.
• Responsible for safe operation of equipment using all related safety devices.
• Works from verbal and/or written instructions from supervisors.
• May perform experimental and developmental work as required.
• Will work closely with engineering to correct program and machine issues.
• May need to make minor program modifications via CNC machine control.
• Will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing environment. Preferably experience in operating laser cutting machines.
• Must be able to read blueprints and use a variety of measuring instruments to determine the accuracy of setup.

Education Requirements:
