Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Denver, CO seeks a Laser and Optics Controller to operate, troubleshoot and maintain the Phoenix laser system. You will train to qualify for beamline operations and work with the Shot Director to execute critical procedures in laser experiments.

The role demands hands-on technical aptitude for optics, coating knowledge, and the ability to perform precise alignments and maintenance within a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Education: Masters or Bachelors in optics, physics or related discipline.
• Experience manufacturing or operating optical hardware.
• Willingness to work set 8-hour shifts and overtime during critical times.
• Ability to read and interpret basic optical specifications of COTS and Custom components.
• Understanding of coating and optical cleaning techniques.

Responsibilities

• Train and qualify as a Laser and Optics Controller for the Phoenix Laser System.
• Execute procedures and support the Shot Director during laser experiments.
• Develop procedures and shot operations infrastructure for the Phoenix system.
• Troubleshoot performance issues during shot ops and maintenance.
• Perform hands-on integration and maintenance with the Phoenix team during upgrades.
