Job summary

Evapco in the United States is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator to assist in fabricating metal parts and develop proficiency to operate a Laser while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role involves training new staff, directing a Laser helper, and completing production/quality documentation. You will perform quality checks against prints and use tape measures, protractors, and thickness gauges to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic shop math (add/subtract/divide/multiply; whole numbers and fractions).
• Read a tape measure to within 1/16”.
• A general understanding of common hand tools is preferred.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Minimum 1-year Evapco Sheet Metal experience required.
• Able to read and understand all engineering prints related to the process.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve problems related to the process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Able to conduct hands on training for new employees.
• Able to give direction/direct Laser helper.
• Proficiently complete all production and quality documentation.
• Perform quality checks to ensure materials, parts and workmanship are compliant with engineering requirements and production expectations using engineering prints, tape measure, protractor, thickness gauge wheel.
• Maintain acceptable production rates within the skill level, by meeting or exceeding efficiency goals.
• Lean and 5S implemented in your areas.
• Must be a self-starter that can work without supervision.
