Job summary

Accumet Engineering is seeking a Laser Marking Operator for its Devens, Massachusetts facility. The role sets up, programs, and operates laser marking, etching and engraving systems to mark serial numbers, barcodes, logos, and traceability data on precision components.

The candidate will collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure markings meet specifications, maintain safety and quality standards, and perform basic maintenance.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on production experience operating laser systems or precision tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

LASER MARKING OPERATOR

Accumet Engineering is an industry-leading advanced processing manufacturer for new and legacy materials, fabrication, precision laser services, and critical component assembly. We are looking for an experienced Laser Marking Operator to join our team in our Devens Facility.

JOB SUMMARY

The Laser Marking Machine Operator sets u, programs, and operates specialized laser marking, etching and engraving systems to mark serial numbers, barcodes, logos, and traceability data on precision components. This role ensures that all markings meet strict customer specifications and engineering drawings while maintaining safety and quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Machine Setup & Operation: Start up, configure and run laser marking and engraving equipment according to production schedules and work instructions.
• Programming & Files: Load, adjust and optimize laser programs, utilizing CAD/CAM files or technical drawings as required.
• Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work with engineering and quality control teams to resolve print discrepancies, adjust laser parameters, and perform basic routine maintenance on equipment
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a production or manufacturing environment operating laser systems, CNC Machines, or similar precision tools.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical documentation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision ability is required which includes close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
