Job summary

Lennox is seeking a Laser Machine Operator to operate the laser cutting equipment and ensure accuracy of programs. You will read blueprints, set up fixtures, and handle materials safely in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include 1–2 years manufacturing experience, high school diploma, English literacy, basic computer skills, and willingness to work 4pm–3am Monday–Thursday with overtime as needed. Starting pay is $18–$24 per hour, plus OT eligibility.

• Understanding of materials (Mild steel, Stainless steel, Aluminum).
• Problem solving and critical thinking.

• Must be able to use standard hand tools – Tape measure & thickness gauge.
• Must be flexible – OT and weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laser cutting operations.

• Correct and clear errors on the laser.
• Inspect materials and report defects.
• Read technical drawings/blueprints for accuracy.
• Handle lifting and moving of parts.
• Package parts for shipment as needed.

What Drives Success

The Laser Machine Operator’s primary function is to operate the Laser machine and ensure proper cutting programs.Job Duties:

• Perform typical laser cutting operations.
• Select proper cutting programs and proper fixtures.
• Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
• Correct and clear any errors on the laser.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor and/or automation specialist.
• Use technical drawing/blueprints to ensure laser program cuts as intended.
• Manually lift raw materials, final products and items packed for shipment.
• Removing parts from sheets and stacking them on skids.
• Packing parts as needed either in boxes or with strapping tape and labeling parts appropriately.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years manufacturing experience
• 1 year of laser operator experience preferred but not required.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements – Essential

• Must be in good physical condition.
• Must have good eye/hand coordination.
• Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk and/or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $18.00-$24.00/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
