Job summary

JCB North America seeks a Manufacturing Engineer focused on cutting and nesting to lead laser cutting and nesting operations on the shop floor. You will drive automation improvements and collaborate on AI-assisted nesting within heavy fabrication projects.

The role requires hands-on leadership, process improvement experience, and the ability to manage training programs for new team members. Join a large, global manufacturing team in San Antonio.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of fabrication/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years supporting automated manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and engineering best practices.
• Must pass drug screens, background checks, and pre-employment tests where required.

Responsibilities

• Select right solution for improving shopfloor processes using automation.
• Operate and improve laser and cutting operations online and offline.
• Troubleshoot machine utilization and improve nest efficiency.
• Develop concepts in AI assisted nesting.
• Set and manage training programs to train new team members.
• Promote flexibility in the team.
• Ensure performance standards are met.
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Develop and maintain visual management for shopfloor.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for fabrication.
• Collaborate with suppliers on performance and cost improvements.
