Job summary

Mitchell Equipment LLC in Dundee, MI seeks a full-time laser cutting operator to run enclosed laser cutters. Training is available for strong computer, math, mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented individuals. Duties include producing parts on time and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities cover day-to-day laser cutting, quality checks, order processing, safety compliance, and collaboration with engineering. On-site work with potential forklift operation and cross-department support.

Qualifications

• Solid computer skills and ability to learn software
• Strong shop math and measurement skills
• Proficient with Windows PCs and basic tools
• 1-year experience operating CNC laser cutters preferred

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day laser cutting tasks on steel parts using enclosed laser system
• Operate laser cutter to complete jobs on time
• Wear safety glasses, steel-toed boots and follow shop rules
• Process internal cut orders for manufacturing and engineering
• Follow scheduling and prioritize tasks
• Possess forklift operation capability
• Check parts for quality and accuracy
• Operate slag remover and maintain equipment
• Communicate with engineering and other departments
• Monitor material and consumable stock levels
• Maintain and clean the laser cutting area
• Assist other departments as needed
