Position: Laser & CNC Press Brake Operator

Description

Summary: Laser cutting & forming metal products using job orders, blueprints, according to customers' needs (including those of the individual lines of business) and company's objectives by performing the following duties personally or along with coworkers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Studies blueprints, drawings, engineering information, and sample parts to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to cut parts to dimensions and within tolerances.
2. Sets up, adjusts, and operates machine to perform precision cutting and/or forming operations.
3. Measures and examines parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as tape measure, micrometers, vernier calipers, and bevel angle gauges.
4. Revises numerical control programs to eliminate instruction errors and omissions.
5. Enters computer commands to store or retrieve parts patterns, graphic displays, or programs.
6. Provides edge treatments according to part specifications and/or the default PMW edge treatment standards.
7. Maintains machine in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and scheduled maintenance requirements.

Position Requirements

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret instructions in various formats.

Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (basic skills), and Epicor ERP.

Education

High School / GED or equivalent experience.
