Job summary

Tate Americas is seeking a Laser Operator to run CNC laser cutting equipment, process sheet metal, and support production targets with a focus on quality and safety. You will load materials, interpret drawings, and monitor machines to ensure precise cuts and efficient production in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes routine maintenance, documentation of output, and collaboration with the production team to drive continuous improvement and timely handovers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience operating laser cutting or CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Basic understanding of machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and production tracking.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC laser cutting machines to process sheet metal and other materials according to work orders and drawings.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper handling and positioning.
• Interpret work orders, drawings, and programming instructions to execute accurate cuts.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished parts for specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues to supervision.
• Maintain production records including output, scrap, and downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
