Job summary

Imagineering Finishing Technologies is hiring a Large Part Material Handler in Indianapolis to safely move oversized components using forklifts and cranes. The role involves loading and transporting materials between workstations, staging according to production priorities, and ensuring safety and accuracy in documentation.

Experience with material handling equipment is preferred; an associate degree or higher is desired, with opportunities to grow in a team-focused, safety-conscious environment

Responsibilities

• Move large and heavy parts using forklifts, cranes, hoists, or other material handling equipment.
• Load, unload, and transport materials between workstations, storage areas, and production lines.
• Safely rig and secure oversized components for lifting and transport.
• Inspect materials for damage and verify part numbers and documentation.
• Stage materials for production according to schedules and priorities.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lifting techniques.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Communicate with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure workflow efficiency.

• 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Training for 3rd Shift positions will take place on 1st Shift for a period of time before employees transition to their assigned 3rd Shift schedule.

Job Summary:

The Large Part Material Handler is responsible for the safe movement, handling, and staging of oversized or heavy components within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. This role ensures materials are transported efficiently while maintaining safety, organization, and product integrity.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Move large and heavy parts using forklifts, cranes, hoists, or other material handling equipment
• Load, unload, and transport materials between workstations, storage areas, and production lines
• Safely rig and secure oversized components for lifting and transport
• Inspect materials for damage and verify part numbers and documentation
• Stage materials for production according to schedules and priorities
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lifting techniques
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
• Communicate with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure workflow efficiency

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other lifting equipment preferred
• Knowledge of rigging and safe material handling practices
• Ability to read work orders, part numbers, and basic documentation
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and inventory tracking
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree or above in related field preferred.
• Prior related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, or maneuver heavy materials (often 50+ lbs or more with equipment)
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
