Job summary

Imagineering Finishing Technologies is seeking an entry-level Shipping/Receiving associate to ensure accurate intake and shipment of customer parts and raw materials. You will verify orders, protect items for transport, and act as a liaison between customers and process engineers.

The role emphasizes friendly communication, a clean and organized workspace, and adherence to safety protocols. Expect regular handling of chemicals and occasional travel as needed.

  • Lift 40-50 lbs. on a repetitive basis without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Check incoming customer parts and raw materials for conditions including shipping damage, count verification, surface condition, and identification.
  • Prepare shipments by properly wrapping, banding, or securing parts for safe shipment.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Act as liaison between Customer and Process Engineers.
  • Ship all outgoing parts (customer pick-ups, UPS, Federal Express) via online hookup.
  • Maintain and organize all customer parts and paperwork.
  • Check all incoming P.O.’s, Bills of Lading, etc., for correct delivery to customer.
  • Check in all chemicals (hazardous/non-hazardous) and ID them with proper labeling; store chemicals properly.
  • Maintain and use equipment (forklift, scale, wrapper, etc.).
  • Perform other duties to provide total customer service.
  • Pursue continuous improvement of techniques to boost productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the process and records.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
To represent Imagineering in the highest standards with excellent customer service to all customers of Imagineering. Must possess friendly demeanor and good communication skills. Must maintain a clean, safe and organized incoming and outgoing area.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Checking incoming customer parts and raw materials for various conditions including shipping damage, count verification, surface condition, and identification.
  • Prepares shipments by properly wrapping, banding, or otherwise securing parts for safe shipment.
  • Loading and unloading of all trucks.
  • Act as liaison between Customer and Process Engineers.
  • Shipping of all outgoing parts (i.e.: customer pick-ups, UPS and Federal Express Shipments via on-line computer hookup.
  • Maintain and organize all customer parts and paperwork in neat and organized fashion.
  • Checking all incoming P.O.’s, Bill of Ladings, etc. to make sure parts are properly delivered to correct customer.
  • Checking in all chemicals (hazardous/non-hazardous) and prepares proper identification (diamond codes, safety hazardous, etc.) along with handling and storage of chemicals to their proper locations.
  • Proper maintenance and use of equipment required to perform required processes (forklift, scale, wrapper, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned to provide total customer service.
  • Continuous improvement of various techniques performed within the duties of the position to improve productivity, efficiency, and the cost-effectiveness of the process.
  • Continuous performance of administrative tasks associated with the process, including processing (and maintenance if required) of any records generated from these tasks.

  • Stand on a continual basis for duration of shift
JOB LEVEL
Entry level. Work continuously to improve on skills obtained through training, and master the skills listed above in the primary responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
Possess knowledge required to complete all Imagineering internal/external paperwork. Understand the different types of processes specified by customer, and to provide assistance to direct the customer to the proper individual(s) for processing requirements. Must have excellent communication skills.
JOB COMPLEXITY
Duties are moderately simple, depending on complexity of different situations. Time management, prioritizing and communicating with all levels of plant personnel and customers is a necessity, along with answering or directing customer questions to proper personnel.
SUPERVISION
Reports to the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator. Normally receives little instruction on routines performed on a daily basis once tasks have been mastered. May receive instruction and training from Production Administration, Quality Assurance, or other disciplines as required to meet the companies planned goals or objectives.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
The individual is encouraged to complete at least 24 hours of job related training per year. This may be accomplished through University-level courses, seminars, continuing education courses, or as approved by the Executive Management Committee.
TRAVEL
This position rarely requires travel. However, local and overnight travel may be required occasionally.
