Job summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician I to join the Large Animal LVT team. You will work with horses, cows, and other large animals, perform diagnostic evaluations, and participate in education of veterinary students, interns and residents.

This on‑site role offers evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts with differential pay, a strong benefits package, tuition assistance, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from AVMA accredited program; NY licensure within 3 months; up to 1 year relevant experience or equivalent.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergencies and initiate stabilization and treatments.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations and procedures using state‑of‑the‑art equipment (bloodwork, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiographs, critical care monitoring).
• Manage care of all large animal patients (horses, cows, etc.).
• Contribute to education of veterinary students, interns and residents.
• Work in a team‑based environment and maintain excellent patient care.
