Job summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician I to join the Small Animal LVT team. You will provide patient care per protocols, perform phlebotomy and catheter placement, administer medications, and monitor anesthesia recovery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from AVMA accredited institution; NYS licensure within 3 months; up to 1 year relevant experience or equivalent.
• New graduates encouraged to apply.
• Interest in ongoing career growth and advanced skill development.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients per hospital protocols and clinician orders.
• Phlebotomy and IV and urinary catheter placement.
• Administer medications at correct dilution and route.
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and during procedures.
• Use monitoring equipment such as pulse oximetry, ECG, and non-invasive BP monitors.
• Guide and support DVM students during shifts.
• Continue to develop basic and advanced clinical skills.
