University of California, Davis is seeking a Large Animal Veterinary Technician to provide routine and intensive nursing care in the LA ICU, NICU and Isolation units. You will monitor patients, perform treatments and basic lab tests, restock supplies, and support infectious disease control per VMTH protocols.

The role requires experience with horses, medication administration and dose calculations, and strong communication with clients, veterinarians, students and staff.

Qualifikationen

• Experience handling, restraining and working with horses.
• Experience monitoring vital signs and administering PO, IV, SQ & IM medications.
• Experience with medications, drugs and fluids commonly used in horses and calculating doses.
• Knowledge of equine husbandry, anatomy, behavior and basic physiology.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle difficult or unpleasant situations and solve problems.

Aufgaben

• 70% - Patient Care and Technical Support for LA ICU/ISO.
• 20% - Nursing and Technical Duties for Other Large Animal Services.
• 10% - Infection and Sanitation Control.
