Job summary

University of California, Davis VMTH is seeking a Small Animal Patient Care Technician to provide para-veterinary technical support to veterinarians in the Small Animal Clinic. Primary duties include assisting with treatments, blood bank support, student instruction, and clinician and facility support.

This on-site, part-time position ends after 10 months with renewal possibilities; there is shift variation and on-call pay for eligible roles. Applicants must obtain VACSP within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Must obtain VACSP permit within 3 months from date of hire.
• No Minimum Education required.
• Experience working in a small animal hospital as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.
• Experience giving medications.
• Experience drawing blood.
• Interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of people including clients, clinicians, students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide para veterinary support to Veterinarians.
• Assist in patient care procedures and treatments.
• Support blood bank operations and facility tasks.
