Job summary

Lanier Technical College is seeking an Adjunct History Instructor to teach at various campus locations. This part-time, non-benefits eligible position reports to the Associate Dean of General Education and pays a lump sum based on contact hours.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction per syllabus, developing curriculum, evaluating student progress, and maintaining grade records while meeting deadlines and safety standards. Background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in History or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in History and appropriate content from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Ability to work well with diverse students in various settings.
• Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded for consideration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in History or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in History and appropriate semester hours in specific course content from a regionally accredited college or university. Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students in a variety of settings. This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations; day and evening classes available. NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic term basis.
