Job Description: Lanier Technical College - www.laniertech.edu is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA-exempt position. NOTE: A background and reference check are part of the selection process.

POSITION: ADJUNCT CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTOR - Different campus locations available

REPORTS TO: GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM CHAIR

SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus.
  • Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
  • Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
  • Administers and grades class examinations;
  • Maintains records of student grades;
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas;
  • Meets all required deadlines;
  • Completes all required trainings;
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.

This position is available at all Lanier Tech locations where Chemistry is taught. Most classes will be in-person (face-to face), and one class will be a combination of in-person and on-line (hybrid). NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic term basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
  • Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level;
  • Experience with online teaching platforms
