Job summary

The City of New York's Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) seeks a Community Coordinator to oversee language services, translation projects, and interpretation coordination for City agencies and public programs.

You will manage end-to-end translation, lead content localization, coordinate interpreters, and support after-hours language access requests, working with vendors and internal staff to ensure timely, accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years of experience in community work or related field.
• Experience with translation management preferred.
• Fluency in one of City-designated languages.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison for City clients and vendors.
• Manage end-to-end translation projects and website content translation.
• Coordinate interpretation requests and telephonic interpretation needs.
• Provide technical assistance for virtual interpretation events (WebEx/Zoom/Teams).
• Support after-hours language access requests as needed.
• Collaborate with MOIA and City agencies to ensure accessibility.
