Job summary

The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) seeks a dedicated Community Coordinator to oversee translation and interpretation services for City agencies and Mayoral Offices. You will manage translation projects, coordinate interpretation, and lead MOIA website content translation using Smartling, ensuring language access for limited English speakers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Hands-on project management experience.
• Native fluency in one of the top 10 City-designated languages.
• Experience in language services or fast-paced coordination preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for City clients, partners, and linguistic resources.
• Manage end-to-end translation projects from intake through delivery.
• Lead translation of MOIA's website content using Smartling.
• Coordinate interpretation requests and support virtual interpretation events.
• Serve as backup for urgent and after-hours language access requests.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external vendors to ensure timely project execution.
• Assist MOIA, Mayoral Offices, City Hall, and City agencies with language services.
• Perform other related assignments and special projects.
