Job description

Youth Era is an Oregon-based nonprofit dedicated to creating positive, lasting change for young people and the systems that support them. We provide peer-based services and programs that empower young people, strengthen communities, and help create systems that better meet the needs of youth and young adults.

Our work is rooted in connection, lived experience, and the belief that young people deserve to have a meaningful voice in the services and systems that impact their lives. Through collaboration with young people, staff, community partners, and organizations, Youth Era reaches thousands of individuals each year.

  • We offer 100% employer-paid comprehensive medical, dental, and vision group health insurance.
  • Take advantage of our 403b retirement plan.
  • Access our employee assistance program.
  • Generous paid time off plan.

Are you interested in using your lived experience to support young people navigating mental health and life challenges? We’re looking for people with firsthand experience in areas such as mental health, addiction and recovery, juvenile justice, Oregon Youth Authority, foster care, education, or LGBTQ+ communities who want to use their experience to connect with and support others.

We do require applicants to provide a cover letter as it allows them to showcase their personality, passion, and specific qualifications for the position they are applying for.

Research shows that women and BIPOC candidates may be less likely to apply unless they meet every listed qualification. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse experiences and consider equivalent combinations of skills, education, and experience.
