Job Responsibilities

As a Laborer, you will provide landscape maintenance, landscape irrigation, or landscape construction support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. Responsibilities include:

1. Performing a variety of tasks involving manual labor in landscape, irrigation, or construction projects.
2. Performing manual and machinery work in preparing surfaces for paving (Landscape Construction).
3. Maintaining a clean job site: picking up all tools and equipment and securing the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
4. Performing materials handling and storage.
5. Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and hoisting materials.
6. Ensuring that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
7. Cutting turf using various sized power mowers, trimming, and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower.
8. Properly and safely pruning shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches.
9. Laying sod, planting, mowing, trimming, digging, raking, pruning, mulching, sprinkler installation, and loading and unloading materials.
10. Planting and maintaining flower beds.
11. Properly and safely operating the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects.
12. Picking up trash and blowing leaves and other organic debris onto the turf before mowing. Mulching the leaves and organic matter when mowing.
13. Performing weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe.
14. Maintaining a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with customers.
15. Bringing problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director, or HR manager.
16. Upholding company policies, procedures, and company core values at all times.
17. Other duties as assigned.
