About the Role
We’re looking for reliable, outdoor‑oriented people to join our landscaping laborer team. No experience is required – we’ll teach you how to mow lawns, trim bushes, spread mulch, and much more. You just need a good attitude and readiness to learn, and you may apply through the federal AbilityOne Program if eligible.
Day in the Life of a Landscaping Crew Member
- Check in with your supervisor and team members and review the day’s assignments.
- Load the truck with the tools and equipment you’ll need.
- Mow large lawn areas, edge sidewalks and driveways, and trim around trees, fences, and other hard‑to‑reach spots.
- Weed flower beds, prune shrubs and small trees, lay mulch, or plant seasonal flowers.
- Wrap up the job site by blowing off walkways, clearing debris, and ensuring everything looks polished.
- Reload tools, clean up the work area, and communicate any site notes or equipment issues to your crew leader.
- Help unload the team back to the office, clean up, and prep for the next day.
Requirements for Success
- No landscaping experience required – we provide full training.
- Willingness to learn how to safely use landscaping tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around equipment and outdoor environments.
- Team‑oriented mindset and respectful communication with coworkers and supervisors.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail for tasks such as debris removal, edging, or cleanup.
- Valid Real ID.
- Ability to obtain and maintain government base access.

Physical & Environmental Demands
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive motions such as raking, shoveling, trimming, and pushing equipment.
- Hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for tool handling and detailed tasks.
- Work outdoors in varying weather: heat, cold, rain, wind.
- Possible exposure to dust, pollen, fertilizers, and chemicals.
- Visual acuity to inspect work quality, identify hazards, and ensure safety compliance.
- Hearing and responsiveness to verbal instructions, equipment sounds, and environmental cues.
- Navigate uneven terrain, slopes, and potentially slippery or muddy surfaces.
- Required personal protective equipment: gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, boots.
