Job summary

PM Landscaping Services, LLC is seeking a Landscaping Project Manager & Estimator to estimate and bid landscape installation projects and manage them from award to completion, coordinating crews and communicating with customers.

This role bridges sales/estimating with field operations, requires strong pricing judgment, scheduling, and travel across the Central Coast service area. Proficiency in Office tools and CAD/SketchUp is a plus; Spanish skills valued.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the landscaping industry, with direct responsibility for installation work and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience estimating and bidding landscape installation projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate project estimates and bids for landscape installation work, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Perform detailed labor and materials pricing calculations, referencing current cost data and company pricing standards.
  • Review project scope, site conditions, and customer requirements to develop competitive, profitable proposals.
  • Prepare and present proposals, drawings, and design concepts to customers as needed.
  • Own installation projects from award through completion, including scheduling, sequencing, and resource planning.
  • Assign and direct crew tasking to ensure projects are staffed appropriately and progressing on schedule.
  • Monitor project budgets and labor hours against estimates, flagging and addressing variances proactively.
  • Coordinate materials ordering, deliveries, and subcontractor/vendor scheduling.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during active installation projects.
  • Provide regular project updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues or change orders promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service throughout the project lifecycle, supporting long-term client relationships.

Position Summary

The Landscaping Project Manager & Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating and bidding installation projects, then managing those projects through execution — coordinating crews, communicating with customers, and ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards. This role bridges the sales/estimating side of the business with day-to-day field operations, making sound judgments on pricing and scheduling essential to success. Minor landscaping design work may be required as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spanish language proficiency highly valued
  • Formal training or certification in landscape design, horticulture, or construction management
Physical Demands

This position requires regular travel between the office, job sites, and customer properties throughout the Central Coast service area. Site visits may involve walking uneven or sloped terrain, standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs).
