Job summary

North Alamo Water Supply Corporation in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Landscaping Crew Helper for 3 full-time positions. The role maintains grounds around water plants and facilities, including mowing, edging and general landscape upkeep. Requirements: high school diploma, bilingual in English and Spanish, ability to read and follow written instructions, valid Texas driver license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Work hours 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• A self-starting individual who possesses a high school diploma and up to three months of related experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow written instructions.
• Must possess a current Texas Driver License and be insurable by the Corporation's insurance underwriter.
• Must possess good judgment as well as exercise discretion in the performance of daily duties.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the workweek and occasional weekends.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining the landscape around the water plants and facilities to ensure that the grounds are orderly.
• Performs landscaping responsibilities to include mowing, edging, weeding, and removal of brush (to include shrubs and small trees if needed).
• Will utilize lawn maintenance machinery such as a lawn mower, riding mower, weed eater, or chainsaw in the course of daily landscaping work.
• May utilize herbicides and insecticides, as needed for control weeds and insects.
• Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs.
• Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures.
