Job summary

Spartanburg Housing currently has an opening for a full-time Landscaper / Groundskeeper. Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 4 pm, and Friday, 7 am to 11 am.

Responsibilities include supervising landscape projects, directing inmate program, coordinating with maintenance, performing pruning, mulching, and trash removal. A high school diploma or GED and two years of landscaping experience plus one year in leadership are required.

• Combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the requirements.

• Performs landscaping duties: pruning, raking, mowing, mulching, removing trash.
• Determines equipment, materials, and maintenance required; inspects deliveries.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervises the installation and modification of new and existing landscape project sites.
• This position directs the Prison Inmate Program and oversees the groundskeeping inmates and provides supervision.
• Coordinates with maintenance regarding work order assignments.
• Performs landscaping duties such as pruning bushes, raking leaves, cutting grass, mulching properties, and removing trash.
• Determines equipment, materials, and maintenance required, inspects, accepts, materials, supplies and equipment delivered.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of two (2) years of trade experience in landscaping work and at least one (1) year in leadership or supervisory capacity. Any combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the requirements of the position.

Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license, and be insurable under Spartanburg Housing's automobile insurance plan.
