Job Title: Landscape Construction PM/Estimator

About the Job: The Landscape Construction Estimator will develop detailed cost estimates, analyze project specifications, and collaborate with project managers and design teams to ensure precise and competitive bids. The Estimator must understand the scope of work, identify potential issues, and communicate effectively to develop solutions. Additionally, the Estimator will manage the process from initial contact with clients through to final invoicing, working closely with clients, suppliers, and the operations team to gather accurate information, negotiate prices, and support the growth of our landscape construction division on projects such as residential communities, commercial properties, parks, and municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Buyout all materials, negotiate with suppliers, and manage projects alongside field superintendents once a project reaches the contract stage.
  • Estimate and create proposals for incoming opportunities.
  • Follow the sales process from start to finish.
  • Coordinate short-term and long-term scheduling with management staff.
  • Assist in personnel management, employee safety, and training.
  • Build relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Track jobs and control costs for all projects.

Minimum Requirements & Capabilities:

  • Horticultural knowledge and proficiency in plant identification.
  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls.
  • Understanding of drainage methods.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment required for landscape projects, including best practices across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry, materials suppliers, vendors, and plant brokers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
  • Excellent driving record.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in the landscape/construction industry.
  • Landscape Contracting Degree or similar qualification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round.
  • Availability to work 45+ hours per week when needed.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays when required.
  • OSHA-10 Certification is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in sales, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
