Job Summary

We seek a motivated estimator to join our diverse team. This role offers the opportunity to work on large construction projects in the Northeast. The ideal candidate should have strong numerical skills, excellent spatial reasoning, and high-level customer interaction abilities.

This position is based in Ewing, NJ.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Thoroughly understand drawings (Architectural, MEP, landscape, civil).
  2. Review all specifications and bulletins related to EDA’s scope.
  3. Lead estimation on multi-scope projects, coordinating with team members.
  4. Engage with customers proactively, building relationships through communication.
  5. Perform detailed, organized take-offs of all capabilities.
  6. Attend job walk-throughs and pre-bid meetings professionally.
  7. Gather and organize quotes from vendors and suppliers.
  8. Prepare clear, concise estimating worksheets and proposals.
  9. Plan and schedule bid reviews, aiming to submit proposals early.
  10. Respect bid deadlines and maintain follow-up logs.
  11. Review contracts thoroughly, coordinate corrections, and send acknowledgments.
  12. Prepare start-up notes and handover documents.
  13. Coordinate project start-up meetings and monitor project progress.
  14. Bid on 3-4 projects weekly to maintain workflow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • 0-2 years estimating experience in relevant trades preferred.
  • Strong math skills and ability to read blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience with software like Onscreen or Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to travel and visit job sites.
  • Excellent communication skills and team orientation.
  • Knowledge of construction/contract terms.
  • Adherence to EDA’s estimating procedures and professional standards.
