Job summary

Father Nature Landscapes in Birmingham, AL seeks a motivated pest control professional to lead mosquito control applications and turf health care. The role demands physical work outdoors, valid licensure in Alabama, and strong organizational and communication skills.

You will coordinate with a team to maintain high-quality landscapes for clients. Responsibilities include equipment operation, chemical mixing with PPE, record-keeping, and field surveys.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time employment with a licensed pest control company.
• Alabama Commercial Applicator Certification: HPC, PH, GRD, GS.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Proficiency in English in both oral and written forms.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform outdoor physical work.

Responsibilities

• During peak season, perform all mosquito control applications and off-season turf and plant health care treatments.
• Calibrate and safely operate equipment from backpack misters to truck-mounted sprayers; mix chemicals with PPE.
• Complete work orders and use landscape management software to schedule property visits and chemical needs.
• Conduct brief surveys on properties to assess landscape health and collect soil samples as needed.
• Maintain complete records of work performed, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
• Regularly service and clean tools and equipment according to specifications.
• Under supervision of the Plant Health Care Manager, keep chemicals organized and stocked in the designated area.

Responsibilities

• Throughout peak season, perform all mosquito control applications. During off-season, apply treatments for turf and plant health care. Identify weeds and diagnose plant diseases and problems
• Accurately calibrate and safely operate equipment ranging from backpack misters to truck-mounted sprayers. Select and mix the appropriate chemicals for each application, reading labels correctly and mixing precise ratios while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Accurately complete all work orders. Utilize our landscape management software to follow the assigned daily schedule of property visits and particular chemical application needs. Read maps and mobile routing devices.
• While on each property, conduct a brief survey to assess the overall health of the landscape. Pull soil samples, as needed. Provide additional applications of materials based on the problem identified.
• Maintain complete and accurate records, including work performed, chemical usage, equipment repair and maintenance, inventory of chemicals and fertilizers, and more
• Regularly service and clean all tools and equipment according to specifications
• Under the guidance of the Plant Health Care Manager, keep all chemicals organized, labeled, and maintained in the designated storage area. Maintain appropriate backstock.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time employment with a licensed pest control company
• Upon hire, immediately begin completing each Alabama Commercial Applicator Certification:
  • Household Pest Control - Certified Operator [HPC]
  • Public Health Pest Control [PH]
  • Ground Equipment Mode of Application [GRD]
  • General Studies|Core [GS]
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and ability to pass our standard pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Proficiency in English in both oral and written forms
• Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance and to utilize a full range of mobility in upper and lower body
• Ability to access and navigate our bulk yard, loading areas, office space, and other aspects of our facilities and job sites
• Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work outdoors, especially during hot and cold weather conditions
