Job summary

San Diego KOA is seeking a landscape maintenance team member to support gardening, irrigation, and guest service across a 365-day operation in sunny southern California. The role emphasizes safe use of tools, plant care, and collaboration with the maintenance team to keep campgrounds looking healthy and inviting.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday with occasional weekend shifts. The wage is $19 per hour, with subsidized health insurance and a Simple IRA after milestones.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in landscaping.
• Able to work with others and work independently.
• Recognize and identify plants, trees, shrubs and flowers used in landscaping.
• Ability to operate light vehicles safely on property.
• Intermediate knowledge of common tools used for gardening/landscaping.
• Intermediate experience with powered equipment used for gardening/landscaping.
• Capable of digging, bending, climbing, and other manual labor.
• Professional appearance and attitude toward guests and fellow team members.
• Communicate professionally and patiently.
• Be on your feet during shift and able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Willingness to do a variety of tasks both in and out of daily scope.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensures customers receive a high level of service consistent with our customer service philosophy.
• Help to ensure the safety of guest and campground property with attentive observation and action.
• Help enforce campground policies and implement solutions consistent with goals of park.
• Mantain the upkeep of the campground landscaping: trimming and shaping shrubs, trees, and plants for health and aesthetics; removal of weeds, grasses, leaf litter and debris.
• Safe and proper use of equipment/tools used in landscaping such as hedge line trimmer, chainsaw, blowers, hand tools, pruners, saws, rakes, shovels, cultivator, etc.
• Maintenance and repair of irrigation system: sprinkler head replacement and adjustment, lateral line repairs and valve replacement.
• Planting and transplantation of trees, shrubs, plants, flowers as directed.
• Clean equipment, tools, and work area as required.
• Oher duties as assigned by the maintenance or general manager
