Job description

Are you detail-oriented, customer-service focused, and a whiz at putting all the pieces together to create solid information for your sales team to offer clients? Villani Landshapers is looking to add a landscape maintenance sales estimator whose passion for details is only matched by their dedication to internal and external clients.

Requirements

The Branch Sales Estimator is responsible for producing accurate and timely proposals for the branch sales team, ensuring they can present and win an above-average percentage of the jobs proposed. The Estimator stays up-to-date on product, supply, and sub-contractor prices, as well as the company’s operating production capabilities, to produce accurate proposals. We are happy to train the right candidate who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a star communicator.

Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Review proposal specifications submitted by salespeople through the Client Relationship Management system.
  2. Meet with salespeople and/or clients for clarification if necessary.
  3. Visually inspect potential job sites and perform on-site measurements to estimate labor and equipment needs.
  4. Gather quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
  5. Collaborate with Project and Operations Managers and branch buyers to clarify product details.
  6. Calculate cost proposals by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  7. Build proposals using current bidding software.
  8. Use CRM to submit accurate proposals to salespeople promptly.
  9. Analyze previous proposals to identify accuracy and improvement opportunities.
  10. Apply appropriate estimating principles in creating proposals.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Previous field experience is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with landscaping best practices is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read site plans.
  • Basic math skills to establish accurate estimates.
  • Problem-solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, CRM, and Microsoft Office.
