Position Overview

MNL, a leader in ecological restoration, is seeking a Landscape Laborer for our Vegetation Management department. This entry-level, seasonal position (late May-September) involves performing various vegetation management duties, including weed whipping and other landscaping and restoration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform vegetation management and landscaping duties using equipment such as weed whips, backpack sprayers, chainsaws, and ATVs.
• Conduct weed control activities, including herbicide application, weed whipping, hand weeding, and brush cutting.
• Maintain work records, including work logs and herbicide treatments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience with safe operation and maintenance of landscaping tools and equipment.
• Ability to read maps and follow directions accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain a commercial pesticide applicator license (training paid by MNL).
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed.
• Prolonged standing periods.
• Ability to travel daily to various worksites with occasional overnight stays.
• Work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
