Job summary

County of Ventura's General Services Agency seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform routine horticultural and facility maintenance on County facilities within the Grounds Division. You will operate light trucks and related equipment and support irrigation, landscaping, and general upkeep.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of landscape tools and care of turf, plants, trees, and a customer-service mindset to work well with colleagues and public.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of landscape and grounds tools, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to perform routine horticultural and/or facility maintenance.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Plants, transplants and maintains trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns.
• Installs and maintains irrigation systems and repairs lines.
• Drives light trucks and operates other motorized equipment.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizers under supervision.
