County of Ventura's General Services Agency seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform routine horticultural and facility maintenance on County facilities within the Grounds Division. You will operate light trucks and related equipment and support irrigation, landscaping, and general upkeep.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of landscape tools and care of turf, plants, trees, and a customer-service mindset to work well with colleagues and public.

The General Services Agency (GSA) is comprised of Fleet Services, Facilities, Procurement, Special Services, Parks, Security, and Business Support and is responsible for a broad spectrum of services to all the County departments and agencies. It requires a very diverse workforce to accomplish the GSA mission of contributing to the quality of life in Ventura County by partnering with their customers to provide expertise and cost-effective service delivery, and foster the preservation of natural resources.
THE POSITION
Under supervision, the GSA Maintenance Worker performs a variety of routine horticultural and/or facility maintenance tasks on County facilities within GSA Facilities and Materials Department, Grounds Division; operate trucks and other motorized equipment as needed; and performs related work as required.
The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of landscape and grounds tools, materials, and equipment as well as basic knowledge of turf, plants, trees, and their care. They will also have excellent customer service skills, the ability to maintain effective working relationships.

NOTE: Maintenance Worker is represented by the Service Employees International Union, Local 721, and is eligible for overtime compensation.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
OPENING DATE: Wednesday, August 19, 2026
CLOSING DATE: Continuous and may close at any time; therefore, the schedule for the remainder of the process will depend upon when we receive a sufficient number of qualified applications to meet business needs.
