Job summary

County of Ventura's General Services Agency (GSA) seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform routine horticultural and facility maintenance across County facilities. The role involves operating light trucks and equipment, maintaining landscapes, and delivering customer service to County departments.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and perform strenuous manual labor.
• Knowledge of landscape and grounds tools, materials, and equipment.
• Valid California Driver License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plants, transplants and maintains trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns.
• Installs and maintains irrigation systems and related components.
• Picks up trash and litter; performs minor repairs and maintenance of landscape equipment.
• Drives light trucks and operates motorized equipment as required.
• Under supervision, applies pesticides and fertilizers.
• Maintains clean work environment and storage areas.
• Performs other related duties as required.
