Job summary

Schill Grounds Management is seeking a Fertilization Manager to lead turf fertilization operations, ensure safe, high-quality service, and drive continuous improvement. The role includes winter responsibilities with snow operations and collaboration with Account Managers on turf quality.

A strong management background, software proficiency (Aspire, Greenius, Office365), and willingness to support snow duties are essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug test and be able to lift up to 60 pounds

Job description

As the Fertilization Manager, you will lead the turf fertilization operations, upholding our high standards and driving continuous improvement to perform quality work safely. This position will have winter responsibilities with our snow operations team. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s purpose and demonstrate our core values.

As a Fertilization Manager you must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job:

• Manage turf application program, ensuring high-quality service and operational efficiency.
• Hire and train new fertilization technicians, enhancing team capabilities and performance.
• Implement safety protocols and enforce company policies. Fully leverage Greenius, the video-based training tool.
• Use Aspire software to optimize scheduling, inventory management, efficiency, and profitability, ensuring work aligns with seasonal needs.
• Collaborate with Account Managers on turf quality and update quotes.
• Address operational issues promptly through our Issues System.
• Plan and oversee job execution, ensuring clarity in scope and resource allocation.
• Liaise between field operations and other company functions.
• Develop and adjust job plans for continuous improvement.
• Assist with cost estimates and support preventative maintenance programs.
• Manage the department budget, monitoring expenditures and optimizing resource allocation.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

At least 6 years of fertilization experience, with 3+ years in management.

Strong knowledge of fertilization applications, troubleshooting, and scheduling.

Proficient in Office365 and learning new software. Aspire and Greenius experience preferred.

Must pass a drug test and be capable of regularly lifting up to 60 pounds.

Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.

WORK CONDITIONS

Employees in this position should be able and willing to drive or travel locally as needed. Schedules for this position may vary and may require flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends. Potential work hours during the snow season include nighttime, weekends, and holidays to participate in snow removal activities. This position will require working outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, sun, extreme cold, or heat.
